On 15 May 2026, the online workshop “Digital Health, AI, and the Transformation of Care” will take place, organised by ESA RN16 Health and Medicine and ESA RN24 Science and Technology.

The initiative will focus on a critical analysis of the transformations that artificial intelligence and digital technologies are bringing about in healthcare systems, care practices and everyday life. From tracking applications to AI-based diagnostic systems, from wearable devices to smart platforms, digital health is redefining the relationship between citizens, healthcare professionals, institutions and technologies.

The workshop will be divided into three thematic sessions:

• Sociological Perspectives on AI, Health, and Technology

• Digital Technologies, Implementation, and Inclusion in Health and Social Care

• Digital Health, Expertise, and the Reconfiguration of Care
