Policies, Practices and Quality across Education, Training and Labour - Call for Papers 1/2026 Quaderni di Comunità

We are pleased to announce the opening of the Call for Papers for the special issue 2026 of Quaderni di Comunità. Persone, Educazione e Welfare nella Società 5.0, dedicated to the theme “Policies, practices and quality in education, training and labour”.

In recent years, education, training and labour systems have been at the centre of profound transformation processes, driven both by digitalisation and the pervasive use of technology, as well as by the growing international integration of markets and public policies. Within this framework, quality emerges as a crucial dimension for understanding and governing change.

Quality in training, labour market and inclusion policies cannot be understood solely in terms of the effectiveness of immediately measurable outcomes, such as success rates or employability. Rather, it requires a broader and more articulated analysis and must also be assessed in relation to the consistency between objectives, content, methodologies and tools adopted, as well as the capacity of systems and policies to include and give value to learning acquired in formal, non-formal and informal contexts.

In this scenario, the use of digital credentials, competence tracking systems and assessment practices oriented towards lifelong learning is taking on a growing role, raising questions about quality standards, validation processes and equity criteria.

This Special Issue of Quaderni di Comunità aims to provide a space for debate and critical reflection on the challenges and opportunities accompanying these transformations. The objective is to gather contributions capable of bringing together theoretical approaches and empirical analyses, different disciplinary perspectives and case studies, in order to enrich the debate on quality in education, training and labour systems and to help outline models and practices geared towards continuous improvement and the valorisation of individuals.
