International Conference “Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Education Towards the Future of Learning”

We are pleased to announce that on 26 and 27 February 2026, the Link Campus University in Rome will host the International Conference “Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Education Towards the Future of Learning”, organised by RN24/SSTNET – Sociology of Science and Technology Network and RN36 – Sociology of Transformations: East and West.The event will bring together scholars and researchers from across Europe to explore, from a sociological perspective, the increasingly pervasive role of technology and artificial intelligence in shaping the future of education.
The conference welcomes contributions that critically reflect on how innovations can address the current challenges of education systems, transform pedagogical approaches and impact social inequalities and opportunities in learning contexts.

Particular attention will be given to the work of doctoral students and young researchers, who are encouraged to share innovative perspectives and emerging research.

Suggested topics

  • AI and teaching methodologies: personalised learning, adaptive systems, data-driven pedagogical strategies.
  • Technology, inequality and inclusion: digital divides, accessibility, gender variables and socio-economic background.
  • Governance, ethics and data protection: ethical implications of AI use, privacy and European regulations.
  • Emerging skills and the labour market: new skills required by AI-driven industry, continuing education, and the role of universities.
  • Citizen Science in education: participatory practices, STEM literacy and collaboration between educational institutions and local communities.

Key dates

  • 15 November 2025: Deadline for abstract submissions that are no longer than 300 words
  • 31 December 2025: Notification of acceptance
  • 26-27 February 2026: Mid Term Conference in Rome, Link Campus University
