We are pleased to announce the opening of the Call for Abstract for the panel “Reimagining Social Research in the Data-Driven Age. Risks, Opportunities and Ethical Challenges”, coordinated by Stefania Capogna and Maria Chiara De Angelis, as part of the RC33 Eleventh International Conference on Social Science Methodology 2025, which will take place from September 22 to 25, 2025, in Naples.

The panel aims to explore the social and ethical implications of digital transformation in social research, with a particular focus on the interaction between innovative technologies and epistemological principles.

Call Topics

We invite the submission of research contributions based on qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods, addressing:

  • The transformation of scientific research through digital technologies and its influence on our understanding of reality.

  • The effects of digital collaboration tools, big data, and AI on research productivity and knowledge dissemination.

  • Methodological, social, and ethical implications of the data-driven society on research.

  • The role of artificial intelligence in the research creativity process.

Deadline and Submission Guidelines

We encourage all interested researchers to participate and to share this initiative with colleagues.
