Questionnaire: 5 MINUTES TO ESCAPE, 72 HOURS TO SURVIVE
⛈️ If you only had 5 minutes to leave your home, would you really know what to pack in your rucksack?
This is one of the questions that forms the starting point for a sociological study led by a colleague at Link University and disseminated with the support of DITES, focusing on risk perception, experiences of flooding and emergency preparedness in Italian coastal and riverine communities.
🎒 In the questionnaire, you’ll be asked to describe your own experience and/or to put yourself in the shoes of someone facing an emergency: you’ll have just 5 minutes to evacuate and will need to choose what you’d take with you to cope for 72 hours.
🕒 Time to complete: approximately 7–10 minutes.
🔒 The questionnaire is completely anonymous.
We are particularly looking for people who:
– anywhere in Italy, have experienced a flood, a storm surge or another extreme weather event;
– anywhere in Italy, live in coastal or riverine areas at risk, even if they have never directly experienced an emergency.

🙏 Every response is important. If you know friends, family members or colleagues who live in coastal or riverine areas, please share this post: their contribution will be invaluable in ensuring the research is as representative as possible. Thank you!
